Community Based assessments, or CBAs, are a 2 week evaluation period of job skills. These are typically 4 days a week, 4 hour shifts at a job site. We do our best to find a site with the client's interests in mind to best assess their skills in a job of their passion.
Work Based Learning Experiences, or WBLEs, are a longer evaluation period that are focused on specific goals that were assessed from the CBA. This is typically 4-6 weeks to see if the goal can be met to then be ready for competitive employment.
Job placement is the ultimate goal of the program. It is gaining employment from a place of business and keeping that job independently. Job coaching will be offered to make sure the client and managers are on agreement with what is expected and what is produced during employment.
Skill building is a form of assessment and learning in which a specific goal is to be met. Some of these can be behavior based, communication based, or work skills based such as pacing, quality of work, etc.
The skills are built upon in a classroom type setting, then coach and client will go to a job site to assess the skills in a realistic setting until the goal is achieved.
These services can include: resume building, networking, interview practice, job applications and mobility training. Clients can come to the office to receive these services where coaches will teach clients how to properly create a resume/create one for them, use online application website such as LinkedIn or Indeed, teach clients how to use public transport/Uber/Lyft to get to work sites, and practice interview skills before going on site.
